In autumn 2017, three new iPhones are currently expected. The iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and iPhone 8 are supposed to be wirelessly loaded according to new information. The annoying insertion of a lightning cable would then be omitted. Presumably, the devices will have to be placed on charge trays.
Once again, it is the KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who in a memo his new findings. While there were already various reports for wireless charging in the new iPhones before, it was unclear whether all models would support the feature. According to Kuo, this is now the case.
Whether iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus or iPhone 8 : all upcoming models should be loaded without cables. Since the necessary components in combination with a back of glass provide for an increased temperature inside the iPhone, Apple according to Kuo the 3D touch sensor must adjust. This is now to be protected with a further graphite layer.
According to KGI, the users will not notice the increased internal temperature. The changes, however, mean that the cost of the components will increase. The new 3D touch module should be between 30 and 50 percent more expensive than the current component. This equates to $5 more for the updated component.
The new report from the KGI analyst is another indication that the next iPhone generation could become more expensive than before. Just yesterday, there were reports that the iPhone 8 could cost more than 1,000 US dollars.
