The download or upgrade of the Dropbox app on
your iOS 9 does not work directly. When you try to uninstall the Dropbox app
and after that you try to download the app again from the App Store it still
does give download error. When you touch dropbox logo on screen, it will
be installing then it failed again and back to covered by grey color again. The
problem is occurs because the app downloads are controlled through Apple’s
App Store.

We’ve found that aside from restarting
and rebooting, the following steps typically help(Apple recommended):
  1. Restart the app
  2. Sign out of the App Store (through the
    Settings app) and sign back in
  3. Restart the device
  4. Check for iOS and app updates
  5. Install another app from the App Store
  6. Delete and reinstall the app
It sometimes takes a bit of time for the
update to install properly and it is working.
