The bronze medal goes to the OPPO R9s, which according to Strategy Analytics sold 8.9 million times in the first quarter. At first glance, OPPO's smartphones are only available in China and other emerging markets. According to market researchers, the excellent sales figures of the R9s are due to the high popularity of OPPOs in the Chinese home market.
Industry leader Samsung is also in the top 5 of the most popular smartphones, but with the Galaxy J3 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) but only secured seats 4 and 5.
